 Purpose of the Launch

Through this Launch, Mpumalanga Academy of Sport in partnership with the German Technical Cooperation, 2010 Office, SAFA, NRW, Mbombela Local Municipality, Mbombela Local Football Association, Local Municipalities, Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, YESS and Streetfootballworld aims to achieve the following goals:

  • Assess the community development programmes of the youth with a special focus on football.

  • Re-align itself with the football needs of its constituency.

  • To address issues of concern within the province, viz,

  • Football Development Programmes,

  • Life Skills Programme

  • Capacity building

  • Structures and administration of sport.

  • Determine strategies to sustain the programmes within the youth community by determining:

  • Important (Key) areas

  • Objectives, people responsible, time-frames and performance indicators.

  • Create an action plan for the launch and beyond.

  • Identify talent

  • Create monitoring and assessment systems.

This Launch will take place from the 5th to the 9th day of December 2007 at Legogote Lodge, White River.

Workshop format
